We are pleased to present a 1931 letter from a member of the "Speed and Lightning" minstrel show team who performed on WCFL in Chicago, IL. The author, Ray Bennett of Laingsburg (or Bay City), Michigan, writes to his mother, father, and brother–Todd Bennett– who it appears had until recently been part of the act. There's a newspaper clipping of the brothers in makeup. The 8-page (4 pieces, front & back) letter talks about a tour to Edmonton, Canada; picking up an Irishman Pat O'Brien to play the Irish parts; and a poem and a song to be performed at the show. All pages shown. Shows general wear and toning.
