    Description

    This is an antique burlwood acorn etui meant for holding a thimble. It measures 3" tall x 1.5" wide and has a ribbed cap that fits very well.  Inside I found a vintage Simmons #9 sterling silver thimble, which is included.  I'll also include 4 more thimbles of varying sizes and makes, including brass from Germany, a #5 and a #0.
    Please note that while the holder is in fantastic shape, and quite beautiful, there is a crack in the wood on one side (see photo).  It does not impede function or the ability to cap it or store a thimble inside it. The piece is quite stable. However, it is there and I wanted you to be aware of it.
