Here we have an outstanding antique solid British cast brass heavy Victorian kitchen hearth or fireplace "FOOTMAN TRIVET" with shaped front legs was used primarily for pots, plates and/or kettles to stay warm in a working Victorian kitchen fireplace area (also known to be used as a coach step.) All legs and handles are threaded and are securely fastened with large iron nuts. It measures approx. 16" long (add 2" for each side handle grip) x 13" wide (from rear leg to front leg) x 10-1/4" side high. It is in good to very good maintained (used) condition commensurate with its age currently showing some minor and insignificant age/wear (scuff, rub marks here and there from throughout the years.) It has not been polished since acquired, only lightly cleaned from dust...showing a very nice aged brass patina luster and is being offered in "as found" condition. The exact age is unknown, circa late 19th century. This well made Footman is weighty as it should be - approx. 26 lbs., add 3 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material.
