    Description

    This High (Butler) Trivet measures 13 3/4" tall X 14 1/2" from handle tip to edge of brass, it has a fancy design. These are called several things, two common names used are "high" trivet due to the height of the legs and it keeps a bit of distance from the open fire and also commonly called "Butler" trivet due to the fact that if you could afford to have the fancy trivet you are likely to have someone cooking for you, thus, "Butler" trivet, these trivets were used before kitchen stoves when people cooked in hearths or open fires and today they make great display pieces especially on the fireplace hearth.
