    pre-WWI Era British Model 1895 Socket Bayonet w/Leather Scabbard for the Martini-Enfield .303 Rifle - Original - Nice Condition
    Up for sale is a pre-WWI Era British Pattern 1895 Socket Bayonet w/Leather Scabbard.  This bayonet was for the Martini-Enfield .303 Rifles.  This is an Original Set.  The socket still has the original locking ring, the screw still turns.  The finish is bright.  Some discoloration on the blade.  Some spots of minor surface pitting on the blade.  The blade has the British Broard Arrow & Enfield Proof markings.  The scabbard has a leather body with brass throat and tip.  This is the Mk2 Scabbard with the two rivets in the leather scabbard.  There is a deterioration of the leather around one of the rivets and the lower tip, see photos.  No rips or tears.  There is spots of seam separation on the rear.  It is still fairly soft and supple.  Hard to find scabbards in this condition.  Overall length 25", Blade length 21 1/2", Socket length 3" and Socket bore diameter 0.65".
    This is a nice representative example that has ages well over it's 120+ year life.
