    Description

    Porcelain ashtray from Swedish American Line, 1930s.  This is the famous "pillow" design, and it features the names of all three of their liners before World War 2:
    Drottningholm, Gripsholm (I),
    and
    Kungsholm (II).
    In very good condition, no chips or cracks -- there are some tiny "crazing" lines which is typical with old porcelain.  Measures 4.5 inches across and stands 2.5 inches high.  Bottom reads "Swedish American Line, Gothenburg Direct New York & Canada."  Made by Rorstrand.
